“The fulness of the earth is yours, … whether for food or for raiment, or for houses, or for barns, or for orchards, or for gardens, or for vineyards;
Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart;
Yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul”
Adam and I met in Hawaii - that glorious land of mountains and sand and ocean and sunshine. Our love was born and solidified in the country of Aloha, and we've carried that with us for the entirety of our marriage. After we graduated from college on Oahu, we moved to the East Coast where we had our first two babies, bought and flipped our first home, and experienced all the growing pains associated with "adulting." After 6 years in Maryland, we transplanted to Utah. Something about this decision always felt temporary - almost in-between. After buying a new home, changing jobs twice, having our third baby, and receiving a mental health diagnosis, we ached for something different. We realigned our hearts, and discovered we wanted a life of more togetherness, more outdoors, and more freedom to explore. We stumbled upon the Hawaiian term 'imiloa: to seek higher, more; and we felt it calling us. We haven't looked back since.
Our mission is to inspire others to seek their highest form of life, so that they can offer a greater abundance of kindness to others, experience deeper connections within their relationships, and find the freedom to cultivate creativity and joy.
(But actually family of 7 when you include the dogs)
I'm Meghan. I'm a photographer, blogger, and wannabe author. If you had asked me in elementary school what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have told you a writer and a traveling photographer. Guess dreams do come true when you have the guts to go after them.
He's Adam. Having grown up in between the mountains and the ocean on the Big Island of Hawaii, he's a country boy at heart. With a genuine desire for greater kindness in the world, he hopes to inspire others to make space for exploration, prioritize sustainability, and seek freedom in creativity and cultivation. When he's not doing DIY projects involving gardening or solar panels, he'll be working on a series of children's books.
Our big boy A is creative and loves to draw, design, and color. He wants to grow up to be a street vendor who sells spray paint art prints. He has an intuition for choosing the right and a deep sensitivity to others' and his own emotions.
R is our out-of-the-box thinker and logical decision-maker. He's got a smart sense of humor and is always the one to start the trends. He's headstrong and quirky, and beats to his own drum.
M is our sweet caboose. She's sassy and feisty, doted on by all, and too cute to stay mad at. She's been surprising us since birth; don't let her dainty-ness fool you: she's determined to keep up with the rest of us.
